We want to thank everyone who supported us, especially on the difficult decision to make Mémoires shareware. Free trial version is available for download (it has the limitation of 5 entries per journal), and you can purchase the full version for €14.
There’s one more thing…
If you purchase Mémoires this week, you’ll grow a tree. Seriously – we’ll transfer a percentage of sales to WWF. One purchased copy of Mémoires = one new tree on our planet. Save trees, write your journal on your Mac, forget about paper.
Have fun!

I think it’s a bad habit to make functionally limited trial versions, though according to the inside information i’ve got this was done just because it was kinda bit harder to enable time limitation.
PS The whole tree stuff is stupid, imho PPS Anyone hiring a chief sales robot?
Functionality limitation is not the same as “number of created things” limitation. You can’t test every feature in functionality limited app, but you can in Mémoires. That’s the difference.
I think it was REALLY bad to not notify users that you were going to shareware from freeware if they updated with the in-program update tool.
I got a “You are not licensed” message the next time I started up and it does make you feel like a criminal.
Not sure I’m going to bother purchasing a license, might just go back to using a pages document :/ all because you didn’t warn me!
Gareth:
Not true, we DID notifiy users.
When you updated a program using the built-in updater, you got the following text:
FINAL RELEASE
This is trial version of Mémoires. With trial version you can create up to 5 entries per journal. You can purchase a license to get over this limitation.
Release NotesAlso, the message “Trial version limit” appears not on startup, but when you try to add more than 5 entries per journal, and it states:
It’s not like “You’re not licensed” or whatever.
I wonder if you used Mémoires or some evil application? (Joke :) )
This text appears AFTER you have already upgraded.
That is my point.
I switched anyway http://journler.com/
Gareth: Wrong again. It appeared before you upgraded. To upgrade, you should have clicked “Upgrade”.
