MarkdownNote and TextileNote for iPad released

September 29, 2010 by Dmitry

We are happy to announce our first two apps for iPad: MarkdownNote and TextileNote.

These programs let you write notes in Markdown or Textile markup languages, and instantly preview the result as you type in landscape mode.

Markdown and Textile are lightweight text markup languages that let you easily format your writing, while retaining the easy-to-read plain text appearance.

For example, to make text bold in Textile, just surround it with asterisks like this: *bold text*, or to make italic, use underscores: _italic text_. Language references are included with the apps.

I was really excited to find MarkdownNote on the App Store and I immediately purchased it. No doubt you’ll be developing it further and adding other features. Though I’m sure you’ve thought of it, I’d like to vote for adding support for dumping the final XHTML into Dropbox.

Great app, though! Keep up the good work.

    Thanks for your feedback Damir!

I too would like to vote for Dropbox integration too. I find it essential in these kind of mobile apps. Without it, you end up with some things on your iPad and some on your Desktop, and manually syncing such things is a pain. Great apps though, thanks for your hard work!

What I would like to see is when the ipad is in landscape mode, you have the same as in portrait, just with more screen real estate. I feel having Both text area and preview side by side useless and a waste of screen space.

regardless it is a very nice application and hope to see a couple of updates soon!
