Nice words

November 18, 2004 by Dmitry

I really love such words from users:

I've been slacking in the blog department lately, but not because I don't have anything to say, complain about, or brag about.  There's plenty of that - I just haven't had one critical piece of software, BlogJet.

Do you miss those SAT-style analogies?  Here's one for you… BlogJet : Blogging :: Word Processing : Letters.  Blogging without BlogJet? Just not worth it. Ok, enough of that and onto the meaty stuff…”

Thanks, Paul!

BlogJet and RSS Bandit integration

November 2, 2004 by Dmitry

Finally, I did it – a plugin to integrate RSS Bandit and BlogJet. If you’re using RSS Bandit to read feeds and BlogJet to post to your blog, this plugin is a must-have. It adds a new item to Bandit’s right-click menu – “BlogJet This!”. Click it and it will lanch BlogJet with the content of selected item.

Installation instructions and download.

Changing accounts with ActiveWords, News

October 1, 2004 by Dmitry

Buzz Bruggeman shows how to write a simple script for ActiveWords to switch accounts in BlogJet: read here.

Other news: I’m feeling much better now and continue coding the next version of BlogJet which, probably, will be available in the late October. I made a lot of promises about that version, so that it takes a lot of time to implement all the planned features:

  • Extended entries.
  • Excerpt and keywords.
  • Trackbacks.
  • Manual setting of post date/time.
  • Easier account switching.
  • Typograhic characters.
  • Image resizing and thumbnails (not yet completed).

After BlogJet 1.2 release I want to have shorter release cycles, and one here’s the first step: I won’t make promises any more . In other words, I’ll apply Mouth Wide Shut policy by Joel Spolsky.

Micro Mode in BlogJet

August 6, 2004 by Dmitry

Matt Hawley writes about Micro Mode feature in BlogJet:

Now a new window will open up that is semi-translucent that allows you to type a blog post in the corner of your screen so that your co-workers or boss can't see it without looking hard for it.

Check out his post to learn how to use this feature.
