OK, not funny anymore.
Robert Scoble couldn’t get WordPress.com upload feature to work…
Dave Winer wrote: “Lots of food for thought in my meeting on Saturday with Nick Denton. They’re big users of blogging software at Gawker, and Nick has a lot to say about where it should be going. One thing he says should be easier is images.”…
Isn’t it easy already? Did you try BlogJet? It easy, very easy to insert images in your posts with BlogJet: as easy as in Microsoft Word.
If your blogging platform supports MetaWeblog’s API method to upload files, you already have this feature. If not, just configure your FTP server. And Flickr integration coming soon…
(Here’s a tip on how to configure BlogJet to post images to WordPress.com without using FTP).

There are a lot of improvements of the Insert Image window in the upcoming version of BlogJet. First of all, one of the most requested feature… ta-da-da-dam!..
BlogJet 1.6 will come with free Flickr plugin that’s integrated into Insert Image window:
Type in your login, click “Get Photos” and receive your four recently uploaded pictures. You can click Next or Previous buttons to get more pictures, or select a photo to insert it to your post. Layout and Picture Size options are available for Flickr photos too.
Next improvement: Save as default checkbox. If you select it, BlogJet will save your layout settings (and Flickr login), and the next time you open this window you won’t have to enter them again. Flickr plugin shares the same default settings with File/Web pictures.
Finally, see this small magnifier icon on image? Now when you create thumbnail in BlogJet, it automatically inserts this icon to distinguish thumbnails from ordinary pictures. Thanks everyone for voting for this icon (if you voted for a diffferent variant, I’ll make it downloadable so that you can customize this icon).
Thanks to everyone who suggested these cool features! BlogJet 1.6 will be available very very soon.

I’m in process of moving blogjet.com to another host. I will post details soon. If you can’t access the website, try blogjet.ORG instead. Sorry for inconvenience.

Another feature of the upcoming version of BlogJet is protection for your work.
…it happens. With all these bugs in firewalls, unreliable proxies, Windows bugs, maybe BlogJet bugs, there is a small, very small chance that BlogJet freezes when publishing your post.
Upcoming version of BlogJet has the protection against this. Now when you click “Publish”, BlogJet saves your work. And if it freezes, just terminate it. The next time you lauch BlogJet, it will ask you if you want to restore your work:

WordPress.com is open to public! And it’s free.
Here’s the tip on how to post pictures to your WordPress.com with BlogJet 1.5/1.6 beta 1: when creating account in BlogJet, select “Movable Type API” instead of “WordPress”.
Provider: Movable Type API
Host: yourname.wordpress.com
Page: /xmlrpc.php
Update: Matt says they opened it for a bit.

This feature is so cool that I can’t wait to show it to you. The upcoming release of BlogJet will have Auto Replace feature:

You can assign a text to any word you type and the will be replaced with it.
For example, I have a HTML code assigned for “BlogJet”: <a href=”http://blogjet.com”>BlogJet</a>. When I type BlogJet… bang! It’s being replaced with a link.
Or – see this Chitika keyword? When I type Chitika it’s being replaced with my affiliate link to this system.
Oh, what if you create a keyword for “Apple” to replace it with “Microsoft”?
This will be useful for Scoble now: if he created a rule for “Microsoft”, “Yahoo” and “Google” to replace with “I promised not to write about it”…
P.S. BlogJet 1.6 will be released soon.
