User-friendliness and wrong features

March 12, 2007 by Dmitry

Me in response to a post in forum:

User-friendly software must not only allow user to do something, but also prevent him/her from doing something wrong. This is one of the points of user-friendliness that a lot of developers forget about.

Total Friday

February 9, 2007 by Vladimir Zakharov

Seems like I’m only posting offtopic here  Well, I’m only CSO (oh, CSR), what do you expect?

For all the Fridayers out there, check out this collection of 79 flash games, some great, some even greater:

http://www.friv.com/

I personally recommend “Toon Crisis” (row 6, column 8 ). Great work from Sony.

PS Yeah, and don’t forget to check out www.purescore.com! I’ve got 55 (hey, it used to be 31 a year ago; getting older, I guess). How much have you got?

The kids (called “Gauchos”) also do other rock covers, check out here.

PS I want a Pikachu t-shirt too!

Now playing: Sepultura - Refuse(Resist)

Working on basics

January 31, 2007 by Dmitry

Signal vs Noise has Fireside Chat with Seth Godin and Mark Hurst. But the best quote is from Jason Fried (37signals), moderator of the chat:

I continue to believe the reason more bars aren’t raised is because people don’t think it’s sexy to execute on the basics beautifully.

Exactly!

Bytes on wholesale

January 31, 2007 by Vladimir Zakharov

Ok, the hangover after the BJ2 release party has almost passed, so now we robots need to get forth with our plans to conquer the world. I assumed that it is rather hard to do this selling the product(s) only from the website, so maybe that’s the time to introduce some B2B stuff? After all, I’m the chief sales guy, ain’t I?

So, if anyone feels like being able to sell some of our bytes through your own channels (e.g. owners of paid XXX blog portals:), plz write to us at sales@codingrobots.com, sure we can find a mutually profitable and blablabla way to make business.

PS Did you count the number of times I said “so”? I guess I have to fight with expletives in my language.

Vista Signature Edition

January 31, 2007 by Dmitry

Vista Signature Edition BoxSo, Windows Vista has been released yesterday. They even have a limited “Bill Gates Signature” edition (+$10). Quote from Amazon:

Get this limited-availability Signature Edition signed by the world’s richest man and own a little piece of history.

Anybody knows who is the world’s poorest man? I’d like to get his signature and put it on BlogJet. I may even lower the price for this limited edition .

Anyway, just a reminder that BlogJet 2.0 works great under Vista.
