Overview of Mémoires

Mémoires is the best way to keep your journal on macOS. Choose a day and write as many notes as you like. Then browse your journal using the calendar, or search for notes using the instant-search feature.

Simplicity

The key value of the program is simplicity. Just select a day, and click [+] button to add a new entry for that day. Days that have entries are highlighted in the calendar. You can browse the calendar to find your previous entries.

Images

You can add photos and other images to your entries – just drag and drop them into the editor.

Quick Drawing

Mémoires comes with a built-in drawing panel, which you can use to add sketches, drawings, and doodles to your entries.

Instant Search

Start typing text in the search field and the results will appear instantly. Then you can click on entries to preview or edit them, or double-click to go back to the calendar and jump to the entry creation date. Mémoires also integrates with Spotlight, so you can find your journals using the build-in search in macOS (this only works if your journal is not encrypted).

Multiple Journals

With Mémoires you can create as much journals as you like. A journal is just a single file on your disk, just like your other documents. This simplifies backup of journals. (And if you have Time Machine enabled, your journals are backed up automatically.)

Exporting to Industry Standard Formats

You data should be portable. Mémoires doesn't lock you into a proprietary file format. Internaly it uses the industry standard SQLite database, and it supports exporting to RTFD, RTF, PDF and plain text formats, so that you can easily open your journals in any text processor (such as TextEdit, Pages, LibreOffice or Microsoft Word.)
